Exact field interface

The golden algebra sits inside a degree-eight multiquadratic field. Sampling, coefficients, and ledgers are separate steps.

Start here

Object
The golden field Q(√5) is a subfield of Q(√2,√3,√5). Exact coefficient records use a declared basis.
Result
The larger field norm of a golden element is the fourth power of its quadratic norm; neither norm uniquely identifies the element.
Example
Try the separate sampling interface: import thirteen ones in the boundary-field tool. It recovers the constant field 1 with β = 0.

This algebraic interface does not make the number field a discrete lattice or establish a physical boundary.

Embedding

Let F=Q(5)=Q(φ)F=\mathbb Q(\sqrt5)=\mathbb Q(\varphi) and K=Q(2,3,5)K=\mathbb Q(\sqrt2,\sqrt3,\sqrt5). Then F⊂KF\subset K, [K:Q]=8[K:\mathbb Q]=8, and [K:F]=4[K:F]=4. The eight products 1,2,3,5,6,10,15,301,\sqrt2,\sqrt3,\sqrt5,\sqrt6,\sqrt{10},\sqrt{15},\sqrt{30} span KK. Their independence over Q\mathbb Q is the standard basis theorem for the distinct square-free primes 2,3,52,3,5. The checker records a nonzero determinant of the sign matrix of the eight embeddings.

This places the golden algebra of N(x,y)=x2+xy−y2N(x,y)=x^2+xy-y^2 inside a larger exact coefficient field. It does not put OMEGA coordinates, or any constant that depends on π\pi, into KK. Transcendence of π\pi is a classical theorem. This note does not reprove it.

Coordinates

Every element of KK has one expression

x=a0+a12+a23+a35+a46+a510+a615+a730,ai∈Q.x=a_0+a_1\sqrt2+a_2\sqrt3+a_3\sqrt5+a_4\sqrt6+a_5\sqrt{10}+a_6\sqrt{15}+a_7\sqrt{30},\quad a_i\in\mathbb Q.

The coefficient order is exactly the displayed basis order, as recorded in basis_order and the checker’s BITS tuple. An exact record keeps those eight rationals, each as a reduced numerator and a positive denominator, in integer strings. coefficient_record.schema.json is a JSON Schema for omega-exact-coefficient/1: eight coefficient objects, an integer-string numerator, and a positive-integer-string denominator. The checker also rejects an unreduced fraction and any zero other than 0/1. Trace and norm do not replace the coefficient vector.

Two norms

For x=u+vφx=u+v\varphi with rational u,vu,v,

NF/Q(x)=u2+uv−v2,NK/Q(x)=(u2+uv−v2)4.N_{F/\mathbb Q}(x)=u^2+uv-v^2,\qquad N_{K/\mathbb Q}(x)=\bigl(u^2+uv-v^2\bigr)^4.

Each golden conjugate occurs four times among the eight embeddings of KK. The larger norm drops the sign. NF/Q(1)=1N_{F/\mathbb Q}(1)=1 and NF/Q(φ)=−1N_{F/\mathbb Q}(\varphi)=-1, but both have larger norm 11. Also 11 and φ2\varphi^2 are distinct and share golden norm 11. Neither norm identifies the element by itself.

Reflection

KK contains Q\mathbb Q, so it is dense in R\mathbb R. A finite extension is not automatically a lattice. The length of n=(2,3,0)n=(2,3,0) is 13\sqrt{13}, and 13∉K\sqrt{13}\notin K. The quadratic subfields are Q(m)\mathbb Q(\sqrt m) for m∈{2,3,5,6,10,15,30}m\in\{2,3,5,6,10,15,30\}. Those are square-free radicands, not field discriminants. That list is the Galois correspondence for this extension. The checker only confirms that 1313 is not one of those seven radicands.

Reflection through the plane perpendicular to nn is

R=I−2nnTnTn=(5/13−12/130−12/13−5/130001).R=I-\frac{2nn^{\mathsf T}}{n^{\mathsf T}n}=\begin{pmatrix}5/13&-12/13&0\\-12/13&-5/13&0\\0&0&1\end{pmatrix}.

The entries are rational, and R2=IR^2=I, RTR=IR^{\mathsf T}R=I, Rn=−nRn=-n. The reflection preserves K3K^3 without taking 13\sqrt{13} as a coefficient. Coordinates, lengths, and operations are separate specifications.

Disagreement

For integer observations, when the set is nonempty,

d∗=min⁡{d∈Z≥0:PA(d)≠PB(d)}.d_*=\min\{d\in\mathbb Z_{\ge 0}:P_A(d)\ne P_B(d)\}.

Both the agreement on 0≤d<d∗0\le d<d_* and the inequality at d∗d_* are required. On the nonnegative integers that minimum is attained. The sequences (0,1,2,3)(0,1,2,3) and (0,1,2,4)(0,1,2,4) give d∗=3d_*=3.

On a continuous domain the infimum need not be a disagreement point. If PA=0P_A=0 and PB(t)=0P_B(t)=0 for t≤0t\le 0, PB(t)=tP_B(t)=t for t>0t>0, the disagreement set is (0,∞)(0,\infty). Its infimum is 00, where the two functions still agree. Do not replace a missing value by an unspecified nearest element of KK: the field is dense, and a nearest element need not exist.

Sampling

Let VV be a finite-dimensional space of continuous functions on the sphere. If a positive-weight cubature rule integrates every product from VV against normalized spherical area, then

∫S2f2 dσ=∑iwif(xi)2.\int_{\mathbb S^2}f^2\,d\sigma=\sum_i w_i f(x_i)^2.

Vanishing samples force the integral of f2f^2 to vanish, hence f=0f=0. Sampling is injective on VV. For polynomials of degree at most dd, exactness through degree 2d2d is sufficient. It is not a universal necessity, and it says nothing about nodes that are free to move.

Boundary decoder

The hosted twelve-node degree-five rule is exact on products from H≤2\mathcal H_{\le 2}, which has dimension 9. The previous paragraph therefore supports unique reconstruction on that space. This note does not add a cubature rule. The rule remains the one on the boundary-reconstruction note.

Under the specified alignment, J(x,y,z)=z(x2+xy−y2)J(x,y,z)=z(x^2+xy-y^2) vanishes at the twelve nodes, while

∫S2J2 dσ=135−1105+135=121>0.\int_{\mathbb S^2}J^2\,d\sigma=\frac1{35}-\frac1{105}+\frac1{35}=\frac1{21}>0.

Those are different facts:

  • JJ is an invisible harmonic cubic.
  • J2J^2 is a degree-six integration obstruction.
  • One extra sample with J≠0J\ne 0 identifies the coefficient on H≤2⊕RJ\mathcal H_{\le 2}\oplus\mathbb R J.
  • That does not reconstruct an arbitrary cubic.

The minimal scalar-point form is the ten-sample decoder.

Records

For si>0s_i>0, di=⌊yi/si⌋d_i=\lfloor y_i/s_i\rfloor and ρi=yi−sidi\rho_i=y_i-s_id_i, so yi=sidi+ρiy_i=s_id_i+\rho_i. The identity is exact for that division. A real residual need not have a finite exact encoding.

The chain is the declared field space, then injective samples, then exact sample records, then reconstruction. The 399 floor map is one integer encoding already in use. It is not the field FF, and Q/SQ/S is not λ\lambda.

Canonical affine readout

This section is a 15 October 2026 supplement. It does not change the 25 September note, the 399 ledger, the thesis file, or frozen G₆. The sine is named and is not evaluated.

Enter an affine field, export the six canonical readings, clear the generator, then recover the field from the imported record alone.

s is the name sin(π/1296000). It is not evaluated. The marks are z = (−s−φ², −s−1, −s, s, s+1, s+φ²), labeled d2, d1, d, b, b1, b2. Each reading is stored as four reduced rationals, the coefficients of 1, φ, s, and φ s.

No readings are held. Calculate, or import a record below.

No record has been imported. The field is not taken from the generator.
